Product Description

Rub-on screentones are widely used in Japan to create manga drawings. They are traditionally made of adhesive plastic film, which must be cut out and glued onto the drawing.

Graph'it offers a simplified and innovative method that will delight all enthusiasts! With a range of 8 different models, these A5 rub-on screentones all have decal designs to be transferred by rubbing.

Rub-on screentones can be used to add light and shadow effects for more depth, graphic patterns to create backgrounds, or material detailing to a character or its clothing. They can be applied to a line drawing before or after colouring.

Whether you are a manga fan, a line stamp enthusiast or a fashion designer, Graph'it rub-on screentones are for beginners as well as experienced artists!

Here are some of the advantages of Graph'it rub-on screentones:
  • Reusable: the same screentone can be used for several designs
  • Easy to apply: the design is transferred by rubbing
  • Compatible with alcohol markers

Instructions for use:
  • Choose a line, stamped or photocopied design.
  • To apply the screentone, place it over your design. The screentone is transparent, so you can see the design through it.
  • Using a ballpoint pen, mark the area you want to transfer, then run the pen over the entire area you want to transfer the design to. The screentone will become transparent, indicating that the design has been transferred to the paper.

Tip: If your screentone has spilled over the design, use the Graph'it Blender marker.

  • Permanently set the design by polishing the transferred screentone onto the paper with the burnishing sheet.
  • Colour your design as you wish using alcohol or water-based markers!
